11 year old crushed to death in lift

An 11-year-old boy was killed in the Paldi area by getting crushed in the lift of the apartment in which he lived. He lived with his parents in Pushkar-4 on PT Thakkar Road on Paldi.
Investigation revealed that Devam Vora, who lived on the second floor, was entering the lift when someone pressed the lift's button on the third floor. The elevator started moving with Devam stuck at the door.Â
he was a student of CN Vidyalaya and had recently cleared his class V exams. The family had shifted to the newly-purchased apartment on the second floor of Pushkar-4 just two months back.
Shocking details have emerged that the apartment Pushkar-4 is an under-construction site and the family had moved in to the block that had been already completed. Other blocks are still under construction.Â
Ellisbridge police has lodged a case of accidental death and initiated enquiry with the help of FSL and industrial safety department officials. Officials are believed to have learnt that Devam might have got stuck while trying to enter the lift on the second floor. However, before he could get inside completely, somebody from the third floor had already pressed the lift's button. Officials of industrial safety department believe that sensors responsible for controlling movements of the elevator may have not functioned properly.Â
