The results for IIT-JEE was declared today. The joint entrance examination is conducted for admission into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). 4, 79,651 candidates appeared in the examination held on April 8.
 19,462 students have been selected for counseling while there are 9,647 seats available across the 17 institutes including the IITs, IT-BHU Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad.
18-year-old Arpit Agrawal from Faridabad topped the exam.
Among female candidates, a total of 1,50,431 appeared in both the papers, out of which 2,886 girls candidates have secured ranks and first 1,908 candidates have been shortlisted for counseling.Â
The counseling website will be open to the shortlisted candidates from today and all of them are can fill up their choice of courses up to 5pm till June 10.

Online filling of choices open to all the qualified candidates: May 19-June 10, 2012
Last date for receiving category certificates: June 1, 2012
Architecture/design aptitude test: June 3, 2012
Medical examination and counseling for qualified PD candidates: June 4-6, 2012
Last date for receiving admission form and medical certificate at zonal IITs: June 8, 2012
Web release of first course allotment: June 14, 2012
Web release of second course allotment: June 25, 2012
Web release of third course allotment: July 6, 2012
