Pramukhswami Maharaj undergoes Cardiac Operation

The head of Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), Pramukhswami Maharaj, underwent a cardiac operation on Friday to get a pacemaker implant at SAL Hospital in Ahmedabad.  

The 91 year old head of the BAPS underwent the procedure to regularize his heart beats as per the advice of doctors. Following the operation, his condition was stable and he was shifted to BAPS campus in Shahibaug. 

An official press release issued by BAPS said, “Pramukh Swami Maharaj underwent a medical procedure to implant a pacemaker. He was operated upon under guidance from expert cardiologists of the city. He is responding positively now and doctors are satisfied with the progress.” 

The pacemaker was placed by Dr Tejas Patel and his team, including Dr Sanjay Shah and Dr Yash Lokhandwala.
