Modi creates another district in Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced creation of another district- Chhota Udaipur in the central Gujarat. Last month he had announced creation of Somnath district which has famous Somnath temple.

Like the Somnath district, the Chhota Udaipur district will also come into existence on January 26. Modi announced this new district at a Garib Kalyan Mela programme in central Gujarat. He had announced creation of Somnath district on August 13.

The new district will be carved out of the Vadodara and Panchmahal district. It will have six talukas which are mainly tribal dominated. With this Gujarat will now have 28 districts.
