Trouble seems to be mounting for former Gujarat Minister of State for Home Amit Shah. The CBI has named him as the conspiracy to kill Tulsi Prajapati in a fake encounter.
The court of the Judicial Magistrate (First Class) in Danta finally accepted the CBI chargesheet after ruling that it had jurisdiction in the Tulsi fake encounter case. The CBI chargesheet is 4000 pages longa and names 242 witnesses. According to sources, retired IPS officer GC Raigar has been named as a witness. Copies of the chargesheet will be given to the accused on Thursday.Â
Along with its chargesheet, the CBI has submitted call details and records containing Shah’s cellphone number and the mobile numbers of the accused police officers. The CBI has stated that Shah had held a closed-door meeting at Gandhinagar Circuit House, on March 3, 2006. Shah was displeased with the investigation by police inspector VL Solanki of state CID (crime) in investigating the Sohrabuddin case. IPS officer GC Raigar who was then heading CID (crime) was present at that meeting.  Solanki wanted to question Prajapati in Udaipur but was denied permission.
Before Solanki could get permission to go to Udaipur, Tulsi was killed in a fake encounter at Danta near Ambaji in Banaskantha district on December 28, 2006 in a staged encounter carried out jointly by the Gujarat police and the Rajasthan police
