Trouble seems to be brewing for Amit Shah, former Minister of State for Home and a close confidant of Chief Minister Narendra Modi as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday filed a chargesheet in Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case in which Shah has been named along with 19 others.
Shah returned to the state after a two year exile on Friday.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate A Y Dave while accepting the chargesheet has fixed further hearing of the case on October 10. He kept the issue of taking cognisance pending till the court verified the document.
The CBI had on August 4 filed a chargesheet in Danta court which was objected by some of the accused. The High Court had ordered that the chargesheet should be filed in special CBI court in Ahmedabad.
On Saturday Shah’s counsel objected to the CBI application saying that CBI had not filed all the documents and had not taken sanction under section 197 of CrPc for arraigning any public servant into a criminal case.
Shah who is also the prime accused in Sohrabuddin fake encounter and killing of his wife Kauserbi has spent two years in jail after which he was granted bail but not allowed to enter Gujarat. CBI had applied for cancellation of his bail but the Supreme Court rejected it and even allowed Shah to enter Gujarat.
