Modi government submits records of Godhra riots to Nanavati commission

The state government has submitted some of the documents relating to Godhra riots to Nanavati commission. Suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt had filed a PIL seeking inspection of some documents from February 27,2002 to September 2002.
Bhatt who visited the office of inquiry commission on Friday said that the commission informed him that the state government had submitted some documents and they were being indexed. Once the indexing is done he will be allowed to inspect them.
Bhatt who has alleged Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s role in Godhra riots was suspended by the state government. However, last month his suspension was revoked by the centre.
Bhatt has sought records of secret service fund disbursement to the State Intelligence Bureau and its IPS officers. He has also sought access to relevant documents of the state control room, DGP and IGP office during the above period.
