Former Gujarat Congress spokesperson joins BJP

Aashifa Khan former spokesperson of Gujarat Congress today joined BJP. Her entry was announced by senior party leader Vijay Rupani. He described it as indicative of trend of minorities tilting towards BJP.
Aashifa Khan is from Bharuch. She claimed that she was very much impressed by the developmental work done by the Chief Minister Narendra Modi and described her joing BJP as a matter of heart.
BJP made her induction in the party a major media show. She interacted with media and replied to number of questions. In reply to a question about 2002 riots, she said that it happened and is a fact to live with, but now people should forget and move on.
Aashifa Khan was Congress spokesperson, but she was not included in the new team announced this year. She claimed that Congress wanted to project her as face of the party in 2012 election, but she was not in a position to spare much time because of family consideration. However, she had no reply to a question about her family problems in BJP and election this year.
