Modi’s comment about Tharoor’s wife provoke sharp reactions

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s remark about Union Minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife has provoked widespread sharp reactions condemning Modi. Twittersphere was dominated by tweets sharply criticizing Modi and raking the issue of his wife.
Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia met media on the issue and also wrote a blog apologizing to people for the remark of Gujarat Chief Minister. He said that he could make public several issues of the life of Modi, but would not do so.
In the twittersphere this is perhaps for the first time that Modi has been attacked so fiercely and his supporters had to raise all kind of irrelevant issues to counter the attack. Some netizens even further maligned Tharoor’s as a desperate attempt to defend Modi’s remark.
Hitting back at Narendra Modi for his attack on his wife Sunanda Pushkar, Union Minister Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday said she is "priceless" but the Gujarat chief minister needs to be able to love someone to understand that."My wife is worth a lot more than your imaginary 50 crores. She is priceless. But you need2be able2love some1 2understand that," Tharoor tweeted.
Speaking in Shimla on Monday, Modi had said that his wife was once his "50-crore-rupee girlfriend", a day after the Congress leader made a comeback in the Union Cabinet reshuffle as Minister of State for Human Resources Development.
"Wah kya girlfriend hai. Apne kabhi dekha hai 50 crore ka girlfriend?" (What a girlfriend? Have you ever seen a 50-crore girlfriend), Modi said at an election rally.
In his blog Modhwadia said , I was going through tweets on my account last night. The way people have blasted him for his remarks shows that people are mature and they do not tolerate such a view. His trolls must be finding it difficult to defend him because these paid warriors cannot find examples to support him.
Many in their tweets reminded Modi of his wife, who is living life in isolation in a remote village of Gujarat. Terrorized by Modi who has become synonym of terrorism in Gujarat, poor lady is not able to share her emotional trauma with anyone.
On the other hand we have Mafatbhai Patel, who is facing another kind of emotional trauma of a family life which has been torn apart by Modi. For those who are not much aware of Modi’s escapades, Mafatbhai Patel is husband of Gujarat Minister Anandiben Patel and frequently expresses before media his pains of Modi dividing his family.
It is not my nature to cross ‘laxman rekha’ of taste of public decency and so I would not write much about Modi’s wife his women friends or woes of Mafatbhai Patel.
