Shop named Hitler in the posh area of Ahmedabad is again in a controversy. In a surprise move the billboard of the men’s wear shop has been removed by the staff of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
The civic boy has a very funny explanation for its surprise action. Municipal Commissioner Guruprasad Mohapatra finds the billboard “Hitler” in bad taste. The billboard was damaged and removed by the civic staff in the full public glare.
The name of the shop is in controversy from the beginning. The name was first opposed by Jews of Ahmedabad. Commissioner says that Israeli Consul-General had written to him protesting against the name of the shop. He said that he had received number of e mails protesting the name.
The store owner tried to lodge complaint with Vastrapur police, but police did not take the complaint. Later, he submitted a complaint to police commissioner. The shop strated couple of months ago is in Advait complex and is in controversy from the beginning.
Israeli Consule –General Orna Sagiv, who was in Guarat to attend a trade fair of Israeli technology, had even told journalists that she had drawn the attention of the Chief Minister about this when she had met him.
