Congress MP from Porbandar Vithal Radadiya who is in a controversy for waving gun at a toll plaza was pulled up by Gujarat High Court. He wanted FIR against him to be quashed by the High Court on the ground that the manager of the toll plaza did not want to press it.
Radadiya was tipped to be a union minister in the Sunday reshuffle. But the incident of waving gun at a toll gate near Vadodara cost him the ministerial berth. Now High Court has pulled him up for waving gun during the hearing of his petition.
The petition of Radadiya came up before Justice R H Shukla and lawyer of Toll plaza employee said that he did not want to press for the complaint. Referring this lawyer of Radadiya said that offense under the Arms Act could not be made out against the MP since he had a licensed gun. He said that the issue of intimidation was amicably settled with the Toll Plaza staff.
However, government pleader opposed the argument of amicable settlement saying that it was done forcible. He sought dismissal of the petition of Radadiya. The court fixed further hearing for November 5 while admonishing Radadiya for his behaviour.
Judge said that Is this the manner in which MP behaves in public? Is this the kind of language that one uses in a civilized society? He has got a licensed gun, but is it for show-off? The Judge asked.
