Samir Barua gets three months extension as IIMA director

Even after interviewing a number of candidates for the post of the director of IIM-A, the search has remained inconclusive. As a result, a day before his term ends, outgoing director Samir Barua has been given a three month extension.
“The board has requested me to stay on as director for another three months. I have agreed to the board’s request,” said Prof Samir Barua. The board of Governors, under the chairmanship of AM Naik, met faculty members at IIMA and informed them that the process to select the new director is going on. They also conveyed to the faculty that they are taking time to find the right candidate.
The board of governors met Barua and asked him to continue as director for three more months so that a suitable replacement was found.
