Congress suspends three sitting MLAs

The Gujarat Congress has suspended all its party members who have filed their nominations as Independents or from some other party for the upcoming Assembly elections. They have been suspended for six years.
Those suspended include three Congress MLAs — Farooq Shaikh from Kalupur, Sabir Kabliwala from Jamalpur and Shankar Vaghela from Chaklasi. All the three were denied tickets by the party. Farooq Shaikh has filed his nomination from Dariapur, Kabliwala from Jamalpur and Vaghela from Mahudha.
Congress party sources said that it is due course of action for the party to suspend those members who file their nominations as Independents or as candidates of some other party against the Congress.”
