Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad
On the eve of UPA chief Sonia Gandhi’s visit to the state, chief minister Narendra Modi initiated a verbal attack on her putting six sharp questions in front of her.
Addressing a public meet in Kadodara, Modi said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi is welcome in Gujarat. He has certain questions for her and wants her to answer them, while addressing people. Modi asked: “Where is the promised Rs 15,000 crore drought relief that had been estimated by a team of central ministers earlier this year? Why are the names of BPL families from Gujarat missing from the final list prepared after two surveys conducted by the Centre? Why is the Centre not giving permission to raise the height of Sardar Sarovar dam? Why is the Centre not constructing new bridge over Narmada?”
He further asked why money has not been sanctioned for Dandi heritage route that was decided upon two years ago. Making a strong political comment, Modi also hinted at the increase in his own stature since he was made the chief minister of Gujarat. He said, “When I came to power 12 years ago, nobody cared in Delhi. Now, Delhi fears me.”
