Ahmed Patel on a three day campaign in South Gujarat

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel will make his debut in the Gujarat election campaign today by addressing public meetings at a number of places in south Gujarat.
Patel's entry, who is political secretary to Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, in to the Gujarat Congress’s campaign for the elections is of great interest as he has been a target of verbal barbs by Gujarat CM Narendra Modi. Modi had claimed in a public meeting a few days ago that Ahmed Patel is the Congress’s candidate for the post of CM in Gujarat.
The Congress was quick in issuing a clarification saying that Patel is not the congress’s candidate for the CM’s post and had instead alleged that Modi was trying to play the communal card by dragging Ahmed Patel’s name into the controversy.
 Ahmed Patel will address public meetings at Jambusar and Achhod today and at  Mangrol and Akleshwar tomorrow.
