70.75% voting in first phase, Narmada district sees highest voting

The election commission has released the official figure of voting which took place in the state during the first phase held on 13th December. The final figure stands at a whopping 70.74 %.
The highest voting of 82.21% took place in the Narmada district. Tapi district came second with 80.43% voting taking place yesterday. At 68.41%, Ahmedabad rural had the least voting. In terms of assembly seats, Kaprada seat had the highest voting at 83.52% while Rajkot West seat had the lowest voting at 62.56%.
The gender wise analysis shows that a 72.41% of the registered male voter exercised their franchise while in the case of women, the figure stands at 68.90%.
The tribal district of Dangs gave a surprise with a higher percentage of registered women voters casting their votes than males. 67.70% males cast their votes in comparison to the 69.83% women who cast their votes. Â
