Ahmedabad records 70.10 percent voting

Ahmedabad also recorded 70.10 percent voting which is 11 percent higher than last elections. In 2007 the voting percentage was 58.24.
Highest voting of 73 percent was recorded in Vejalpur while lowest 67 was recorded in Khadia- Jamalpur.
Voting was high in Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Maninagar constituency. 71 percent people exercised their franchise. Congress has fielded Shweta Bhatt, wife of IPS Sanjiv Bhatt against Modi.
Voting in Naranpura consitutency was 69.50 percent. Former Minister of State for Home Amit Shah who is accused in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case fought elections from this seat against Dr. Jeetu Patel of Congress.
Voting percent in other seats are Ghatlodiya- 72, Vatva- 71.50, Ellisbridge 67.50, Nikol-68, Naroda- 68.50, Thakkar Bapa nagar-68, Bapunagar- 70.50, Amriawadi-69, Dariapur- 71, Dani Limda-71, Sabarmati-70.50, Asarwa-67.50 and Daskroi-71.  Â
