The final polling figure for phase two of the Gujarat Assembly elections by the election commission is 71.85%. This figure surpasses the 70.75% polling figure recorded for the elections.

Besides record voter turnout this time, the most striking fact is the enthusiasm shown by the tribal voters. Like in phase one, phase two has seen maximum voting from the tribal dominated districts. In the second phase of elections for 95 seats, 73.55% voting was done by males while 70.01% voting was done by females. The highest voting by women was 74.08%, done in Sabarkatha district. In the case of males, highest voting was 77.81%, recorded at Banaskatha district. The lowest voting was seen in Kutch district. The voting there stood at 67.77%.

As per the EC’s data, apart from 76,18,248 male and 66,79,853 female voters, 12 voters from the other gender exercised their franchise in the second phase of the polls.
