Budget Session of Gujarat Assembly from February 23

Budget Session of Gujarat State Assembly will begin on February 23. The budget will be presented by Finance Minister on February 24.
This will be the last budget of Modi government as Gujarat is scheduled to have Assembly elections by the year end. Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala will break his own record and present the state budget for 18th time.
Budget Session will last 36 days. House will work for 24 days. In view of 2012 being election year, the budget is likely to be without any major taxation proposal. Annual plan for 2012-13 is expected to be around Rs 90,000 crore. Last year it was Rs 80,000 crore.
