The electrical equipment industry is facing a major problem in getting skilled and employable manpower which is technically competent, equipped with skills and ready to be deployed. The Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises says that requirement is estimated to increase to 15 lakh direct employment and 20 lakh indirect employment by 2012.

Hearing on the 2G spectrum allocation case, the Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the 122 2G spectrum licences granted by former telecom minister A. Raja. The Supreme Court cancelled the licences on the ground that they were allotted in an “arbitrary and unconstitutional” manner.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has now introduced a provision for the refund of wrongly paid fee. Earlier there was no process in MCA21 for refund of fees wrongly paid by the stakeholder while availing various services at MCA 21.
