GTU now in social media circuit of Facebook

Gujarat Technological University has initiated a quite innovative move to remain connected with the students of colleges affiliated to it. It has created a page and started sending friend requests to students. In the first three days, over 3,000 students have accepted the request.
Vice Chancellor of the GTU A K Agrawal says that the idea is to make the most of the student’s active involvement in the social media like facebook. It is to optimally connect to the students, he said.
The GTU has already made special pages on the 25-odd innovation complexes to be started by the university. The social networking site would be used to post information on the syllabus, exam schedules as well as updates about events, conferences and special lectures to be held.
