IRMA holds 31st annual convocation

The Institute of Rural Management, Anand held its 31st annual convocation on Thursday. UID chairman Nandan Nilekani was the chief guest at the function.
105 students from the Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management course and four students from the Fellow Program in Rural Management were awarded their degrees. Talking about ‘Aadhaar’, Nilekani said that villagers will be able to access services like banking and telecommunications in a better manner with the arrival of Aadhaar. He also said that it is not wrong to not have all the answers to the problems. But it is important to keep on learning always. He urged the students to not fear new ideas and innovations.
Prof Unni, Director of the institute said that IRMA has joined the rural development network by joining hands with institutions like IDFC, IDIGR and CESS Hyderabad to produce a rural development report under the initiative of the Rural Development Ministry. The report will present the current condition of sustainable livelihood in the country.
