As the term of controversial Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Parimal Trivedi comes to an end in June, the search for a new VC for the state’s biggest university has begun. GU’s Vice Chancellor search committee held its first meeting on Friday at the university’s convention hall starting the process officially. 

The three member search committee consists of advocate Saurabh Amin (chairman of search committee), VC of Indian Institute of Teacher Education, Gandhinagar, Kamlesh Joshipura and MSU VC Yogesh Sing.

The First meeting of the committee lasted for close to two hours. The committee members are expected to write letters to various academic institutes in the state and in other parts of the country to recommend likely candidates for the post. The next meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held after 10 days.
