TET in three languages only

The Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Gujarat government for recruitment of teacher will be held in three languages only. TET will be conducted in Hindi, Gujarati and English.
Any candidate who wants to teach in the schools will have to clear this exam. The candidate will also be eligible if he/she has cleared the National Eligibility Exam conducted by UGC.
A government release stated that a candidate wanting to teach in a Marathi school will have to clear his TET examination either in English, Hindi or Gujarati. However, the candidate should have studied in a Marathi medium school till class X or should have Marathi as a subject in class XI and XII.
Recently the education department has decided to hire 14000 primary teachers to meet the norms necessary for the implementation of Right To Education (RTE) Act. The new teachers will be recruited though Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). The TET for lower primary will be conducted either on May 27 or on the first Sunday of June followed by another test for upper primary schools.
