The admission to B.Ed courses will begin from June 7. The B.Ed colleges affiliated to Gujarat University will distribute admission forms from June 7 to June 23.Â
Candidates can obtain the admission forms from the GU consumer store. Filled up forms will be accepted back from June 7 itself at the IAS training center. The merit list will be declared in first week of July. The admission process will begin from second week of July where fee will be accepted by different colleges
There are 87 B.Ed colleges affiliated with GU in the state. Of these, one college is government run while 16 colleges are grant-in-aid. Seventy colleges are self financed. There are in all 8,700 seats.Â
Even though there are a large number of seats in these colleges, many self financed colleges lack adequate infrastructure. Last year as many as 2300 seats had remained vacant. This year too, officials fear that 3500 seats are expected to remain vacant.
