Merit list for MBA, MCA courses announced

The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has announced the merit list for admission into MBA and MCA courses in the state. The merit list has been prepared on the basis of the candidates’ scores in Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) conducted by GTU in June.
The topper in the merit list for MBA has secured 328 merit marks out of 400. The topper in MCA has secured 343 merit marks. The merit list of MBA has 11,677 students while there are 7,388 students in the merit list for MCA.
13,606 students had appeared for GCET for admission to MBA course, out of which 11,677 made it to the merit list while 555 were deemed ineligible for admission. Similarly, 7,570 candidates gave GCET for admission to the MCA course, of which 7,388 students qualified while 97 were disqualified for admission.
On being asked about the reason behind the disqualification of students, the GTU authorities said that the students  may have been disqualified for various reasons like not having the mandatory 50% marks in graduation, incomplete documents like caste certificate, non creamy layer certificate etc.
