2.15 lakh candidates to take CAT exams

Common Admission Test (CAT) for entry into 13 Indian Institute of Managements and various business schools across the country will begin from Thursday.
The test will end on November 6 and will be conducted in 61 test centres across 36 cities. There has been a marginal increase in number of female candidates this year. As compared to 2011 when 27 percent female candidates took exams this year the number has increased to 28 percent.
According to Prometric, the software company which conducts tests online, candidates can login to the website and download CAT 2012 Admit card. They must bring this card and a valid photo identity to the exam centre. The list of approved ID is available on CAT website www.catiim.in
This year the number of students taking CAT has also gone up by 4 percent. Last year 205,000 registrations were done and this year the number has increased to 215,000.as per the exam notification this year also CAT will have two sections of 1hour and 10 minutes each. There are no significant changes in the pattern this year.
