Keshubhai’s Call: Don’t repeat ‘no repeat’ theorists
Gujarat Global News Network, Gandhinagar
Former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel has opened an all out attack on Chief Minister Narendra Modi. He has asked the BJP workers in the state to give Narendra Modi a taste of his own medicine. In an indirect reference to Modi in his blog, Patel has asked BJP workers ‘not to repeat’ those who believe in the ‘no repeat’ theory.
Patel was referring to the practice adopted by Modi of not repeating BJP workers for a post. In his blog he has also written about his decision of not renewing his active membership of the BJP. He has written,“I am being asked to retain the active membership of BJP, but I would like to ask, does BJP really exist in Gujarat? Is there a family atmosphere in Gujarat BJP? Party workers are being treated like bonded labourers.”
He further writes: “Party workers were not remembered during the four-and half-years of power. Some of them were humiliated in the [party] office. Secret meetings are held with industrialists in five star hotels. All limits are crossed to sell Gujarat and even grazing land from where domestic animals like cows get their food, is sold off.”
Patel further writes: “The party is trampled underfoot. Government employees are compelled to be present at functions. BJP workers are treated like untouchables. But now when elections are close, party workers are being remembered once again. I appeal to workers not to repeat those who cut-out workers in the name of ‘no repeat’.”
