Senior RSS Pracharaks Relieved or Sacked?

The political circles in the BJP and RSS are abuzz with the news of three senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharaks, having close ties with anti-Modi leaders, being relieved from their posts. Bhaskarrao Damle, Narendra Panchasara and Ramesh Gupta have recently been have been relieved from important posts in the RSS.
The pro-Modi camp has pushed the story as a show of Modi’s hold over the RSS and has claimed that these leaders have been removed because they were perceived as having affiliation with the anti-Modi camp.
But other leaders from the state have pointed out that this step is part of a long-standing practice in the RSS of relieving elderly members from posts to give them vishram,or rest from responsibility. In an official communiqué, RSS spokesperson Pradip Jain also said the decision was taken in view of their advancing years.
Former BJP leader Gordhan Zadafia said “It is propaganda by the Modi camp that the three have been removed because they were part of the anti-Modi faction,” he said.
Damle was recently seen at Keshubhai’s house in Gandhinagar where Narendra Modi baiters planned to come out with a third front to contest the next Assembly election.
