Gujarat 2012 Elections: Keshubhai Patel launches Gujarat Parivartan Party

Keshubhai PatelAfter resigning from the BJP on Saturday, former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel on today launched his political party called the Gujarat Parivartan Party.

The 83 year old leader had left the BJP because of his differences with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

At the launch of his party in the capital city of Gandhinagar, Patel said that the party will contest the upcoming assembly elections in the state. It is likely that former state minister Gordhan Zadafia’s Mahagujarat Janata Party will merge with the Gujarat Parivartan Party. Zadafia, had recently said he would merge his party with the new outfit of Patel.

Patel was associated with the BJP for six decades, had been attacking Narendra Modi for the last few months. He has been severely critical of his style of works, terming him dictatorial and comparing him with Hitler.
