BJP to project Narhari Amin as Patel leader

Gujarat BJP has worked out a plan to project Congress rebel Narhari Amin as its Patel leader in view of Assembly elections. This is to counter powerful challenge from former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel who has been able to mobilize Patels for his newly launched Gujarat Parivartan Party.
Narhari Amin former Deputy Chief Minister and a senior Congress leader was inducted into BJP on Thursday with much fan fare. Chief Minister Narendra Modi himself received Narhari Amin at a function organized at party headquarters in the Khanpur area of Ahmedabad.
Rebellion of Narhari Amin and his entry into BJP provided Narendra Modi a Leuva Patel leader to counter Keshubhai Patel. Modi plans to divide strong base of Leuva Patels in the Saurashtra region as Leuva Patels have shown inclination towards Keshubhai Patel.
However, it is to be seen what impact Narhari Amin is able to make in Saurastra. Narhari belongs to Dehgam in north Gujarat and Patels of north Gujarat and Saurasthra are quite different. Though in the recent past Narhari Amin had been to Saurashtra as a Congress leader, but his brief had nothing to do with the community.
Narhari Amin had 12 media interactions in two months to release 12 dimensions of vision 2012 of Gujarat Congress. He had been to Junagadh for crisis management in the only Municipal Corporation Congress has. Neither of these assignments had anything to do with Patel community.
Amin will address a press conference in Rajkot at 11.00 am tomorrow. He will address a public meeting at Gondal at 3.00 pm. Gondal is Leuva Patel dominated seat .Here Gordhan Zadafia, power leader of GPP is contesting. Much of the GPP is making of Gordhan Zadafia.
He will address another rally at Junagadh at 6.00 pm. It is followed by rally in Keshod later.
