Parliament will have final say on Lokpal, Advani

BJP leader L K Advani has made it clear that only Parliament will have final word on Lokpal. He said that Anna had right to express his views, but ultimately it is the Parliament which will decide on the issue.

Addressing an international Sindhi meet here, he said that there were no two opinions that it is Parliament which will decide the final Bill nobody else. Parliament is to decide what form to be given to the Lokpal Bill, the Member Parliament from Gandhinagar said.
He stressed that BJP wanted a strong Lokpal and was willing to extend all cooperation in the matter in the Parliament. From BJP and NDA side there will be every effort to get the Bill passed. This approach was also in the meeting of the joint committee and the meeting Prime Minister had called on the issue.
He said that Team Anna had discussed the JanLokpal Bill with BJP and his party had pointed out three four shortcomings in the draft. They had agreed to make changes, but I am not aware whether they made these changes or not, he added.
