Delivering a key note address on the subject ‘Public Relations for Grassroots Innovations’, organised by Public Relations Society of India (PRSI),Ahmedabad Chapter, Prof Anil Gupta said “No society can develop without focus on innovations. The issue is how we share this
with larger community.”
Citing an example of Padyatra, Prof Gupta said “Our goal is whatever the creativity our people have, add the value for it. A knowledge based approach for the quality of life is required.” “Does our PR connect curiosity, compassion and collaboration enough? There is a need to review and analyse our PR efforts,” added Prof Gupta.
‘PR should not become one way communication but it should two way communications connecting the people. It’s a new responsibility for the communicators. We should understand that Innovation, Enterprise and Investment are triangle,’ said Prof Gupta.
He also said “There is lot of happenings in our country. How do we communicate this spirit? There are creative forces, energies. There is a need to connect it and somebody has to connect it”. Prof Gupta is reputed for his dedicated work to provide platform to recognise, respect and reward local grass root innovators. For this purpose, he has created a network called Honey Bee and an NGO called SRISTI.

Through these institutions, he has helped local innovators to acquire lakhs of patents and promote their innovations all over the world. Prof Gupta also called upon PRSI to help in his dream of creating a Multimedia Innovation Exhibition Centre in Ahmedabad where space could be provided for showcasing grass root innovations to inspire children.
It was one of the largest attended gatherings of PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter where students were present in huge numbers apart from Past Chairmen, corporate and individual members.
