Book tickets at current reservation centres for short notice journeys

Train passengers travelling on a short notice have been advised to use the current reservation facility at the stations.
The Ministry of Railways has pointed out those vacant reserved seats available on train after preparation of reservation charts can be booked at the current counters of the train originating stations up to a specified time before departure of trains.
It said that the facility is being misused by unscrupulous elements who charge premium from the passengers. A reserved ticket can be booked across the reservation counters all over the country as well as through internet only up to the time of preparation of reservation charts. After preparation of charts, if any seats or berths are available then they can be booked at the current counter at all major stations, a release said.
