BSNL launches 3 android tablets to rival Aakash

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today took a jump into the low priced Android tablet market with launch of 3 Android powered tablets in partnership with Pantel, a telecommunications company based in Noida. The cheapest version is priced at Rs 3,499 which is just a few hundred rupees more than the price of the Aakash tablet which is at the moment suffering from supply issues.
The cheapest version is the BSNL T-Pad IS701R which comes bundled with a 2G BSNL SIM card. It has a high resolution 7” resistive touch screen (TFT Display) and is powered by a 1GHz processor and inbuilt DDR II 256M RAM . It also has built in 2GB memory can be expanded upto 32GB using the onboard TF Card slot.
The unique feature of this tablet is that it has an Integrated HDMI port for connection with LCD/LED TV, a feature which is not seen in many high end tablets too. The tablet runs on Android™ 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS.
The T-Pad IS701R has WiFi 802.11b/g/n and has a 0.3 MP camera. It also has a USB slot also, a feature which is also seen in the Aakash Tablet. The resistive touch screen is a letdown but at this price nothing better can be there.The battery is Li-ion 3000mah 5V 2A.
The other two models T-Pad WS704C and T-Pad WS802C are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500 respectively. Both of them support 3G and have capacitive touch screens. These models have functions like a 3.55 audio jack, GPS and Built-in front and back facing camera and microphone for video calling.
