After marathon, Amdavad gears up for cyclothon

Cyclists in the city have a reason to rejoice. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will organise first cyclothon in January 2013.
Ahmedabad will be the first city in the state and second in the country after Pune to organise the event.
The AMC has started online registration for cyclathon to be held on January 27,2013. It will be organised in three sections. Municipal Commissioner Guruprasad Mohapatra said that there would be Century Race (105 kms), Half century race (85 kms), Roadster Fixi (Indian made non gear cycle) and Dream Ride (17 km).
The registration fee is Rs.300 while dream ride would be free. The AMC has also announced prizes both for men and women and a special prize for veteran cyclists.

Mohapatra said that Sabarmati marathon has also been organised. After successful two editions the third edition will be held on January 6 next year.
There will be four section: full marathon (42km), half marathon (21 km), dream run (7 km) and run for physically challenged. The registration for each event is Rs.400 while for physically challenged it is free.
