People taking domestic flights from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport will have to report at the check-in counter two hours before their scheduled departure.
This is in view of resurfacing of the runway. As the runway will be closed between 10am and 6pm, the airport has asked all airlines to ask passengers to check in two hours in advance to avoid long queues and delays.
Airport Authority of India has planned major resurfacing of runways at the airport after more than six years. “The 3.5 km-long runway at the city air port will be shut down for resurfacing from April 16. We request all passengers to report two hours in advance, especially those who have flights between 5 am and 10 am, and between 6 pm and 8 pm to avoid long queues and delays, “said Joint General Manager (ATC) VK Seth.
