With talks of early polls Gujarat Congress has geared up to take up the big challenge. From meetings with party workers to discussing election strategy and talks about tickets, party leaders are working to get desired results.
On Friday the core committee of the party decided that candidates who have lost elections twice will not be allotted tickets. Similarly those who have lost by 20,000 votes will also not be considered.
State Congress President Bharatsinh Solanki said that no one will be allowed to change constituency. This would prove a blow to many senior leaders who are mulling switching over to safe seats.
He said that youth and women would be given priority in tickets. He said that one woman in each district would be given ticket. The party had planned adivasi yatra next month. But with signs of early polls the party has decided to postpone the yatra. Instead five public meetings would be held in tribal areas.
Solanki claimed that party would get support as people of the state were fed up with misrule of BJP.
