Now people of Gujarat will have access to various police services through a click of mouse.
The state government has launched eGujCop project which covers majority of the police stations across the state.
Through the ‘Citizens portal service’ people will be able to view progress of their case online, download important forms and certificates, apply for various permissions like verification, different licenses etc. They can view progress of their application online.
The project covers more than 1100 locations including 450 police stations, 59 circle police inspector offices, 60 sub divisional offices, 35 Commissioner of police, Superintendent of police offices and others. Inaugurating the project Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that eGujCop will prove more useful than AK47 for jawans.
He exhorted policemen to use technology. Criminals involved in multiple crimes will be identified through biometric and case history data will be available on eGujCop network. The state government has connected IB, CID, Passport, FSL also to the network.
