A minister of Gujarat government were on Monday grilled by CBI in Israt Jahan fake encounter case.
Law Minister Pradeep Singh Jadeja was questioned in the case over audio tapes of a meeting in which he along with some officers discuss derailing investigations of the case.
Israt Jahan, 19 year old college girl from Mumbai and three others were shot dead by the state police in 2004 claiming that they were terrorists on a mission to kill Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
One of the accused cop in the case G L Singhal had provided audio tapes to the investigating agencies which has record of conversations regarding the fake encounter. Two days back CBI had interrogated G C Mumru, IAS in CMO and A K Sharma IPS who had attended the meeting.
According to sources the CBI has also issued notices to Advocate General Kamal Trivedi in whose office the meeting was allegedly held. The CBI has so far arrested seven policemen in the case.
