Gujarat government today announced 10 percent increase in the Dearness Allowance for its staff. This will be paid with retrospective effect from July this year, Finance Minister Nitin Patel said.
This increase in DA will benefit 4.86 lakh state government employees and 3.87 lakh pensioners. This will cause additional burden of Rs 1323 crore to the state exchequer.
The arrear of the DA will be paid to employees in cash. The state government has also announced festival advance of Rs 2,000 to its class four staff.
