HC dismisses petition against Asaram and son for quashing of FIRs

Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad

The Gujarat High Court on Monday dismissed the petitions moved by Godman Asaram and his son Narayan Sai who had sought quashing of FIRs of sexual assault lodged against them by two Surat based sisters.

Meanwhile, police sent 8 sevikas of Asaram to judicial custody on Monday.

Justice A J Desai dismissed the petition after the counsel for the father-son duo withdrew it. The court said that they can file fresh petitions after the investigations in the case were over. Surat based two sisters had filed complaint against the father-son of sexual assault between 1197 and 2006.

Asaram is already in jail in Jodhpur for a rape case. But Narayan is missing and Surat police has announced a reward of Rs. 5 lakh for him.
