Electronic toll collection facility was inaugurated today on Ahmedabad- Vadodara Expressway.
This will reduce traffic congestion at the toll plaza and ensure quicker movement of the vehicles.
Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Tushar Chaudhary inaugurated the centre and also laid the foundation stone for the Rs.55 crore six lane interchange junction at Dumad. This work would be completed by December 2014 and will help reduce traffic.
He said that the government had given top priority to Vadodara- Mumbai Expressway and the project will be awarded soon. The cost of the 400 km long expressway is Rs.27,000 crore.
The Vadodara-Mumbai corridor has highest traffic density and therefore has been given top most priority, he said.
