For this, he said that there should be a task force comprising of economists and others to guide this change in the cooperative banks.
Referring to frequent problems in elections in cooperative banks which are stumbling the smooth and progressive functioning of the banks, he said that there should be an independent body for conducting elections in cooperative banks. It should be on the pattern of election commission, he said.
Cooperative banks should attach themselves with some social cause, he said. He suggested that they should have Corporate Social Responsibility concept and should take up sanitation as their projects. This will be a great tribute to Mahatma Gandhi who always focused on sanitation as his 150th birth anniversary is approaching.
