A no confidence motion against Vipul Chaudhary, Chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation was passed today with 15 directors voting for it.
Chaudhary and his supporter Ramsinh PArmar opposed the motion and walked out of the meeting.
The board of directors had met to discuss the proposal to oust Chaudhary. A resolution to this effect was passed. However it cannot be implemented without the nod of Gujarat High Court.
Meanwhile Chaudhary moved Supreme Court against the resolution. Hearing on his case would be held on Friday. Chaudhary and Parmar boycotted the meeting on the ground that they were not given the agenda of the meeting in advance. In his absence Chairman of Sabar dairy chaired the meeting.
The matter was taken to HC by Chaudhary and the meeting was postponed twice by the court. Finally HC gave nod for the meeting but said that no decision would be implemented without its consent.
Chaudhary faces charges of mismanagement of funds of the federation. Of the 17 members 15 voted against him. Chaudhary is eyeing the top post of Chairman of NDDB and is in touch with Chief Minister Narendra Modi for it. He also met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on his visit to the city last month.
