The AMC-MET run SBS physiotherapy college has organized a two day national conference on orthopedic rehabilitation from 7 December.
The conference “CONOR 2013” aims at exploring various aspects of orthopedic rehabilitation. It will have knowledge, innovation and interaction as its theme.
Giving details of the conference Chairperson and principal of the college Dr. Neetaben Vyas and organizing secretary, Nehal Shah, said that more than 400 delegates are expected to participate in the conference. There will lectures on various topics and research papers would be presented by eminent speakers.
Generally people think that physiotherapy is just about exercise. But it is much more than that. At Physiotherapy College we give training to the patients as to how to walk, sit or sleep so that they can lead a pain free life. Various new methods of treatment have been developed in the recent years, Dr. Vyas said.
This conference will help to create awareness about the latest developments in physiotherapy which would help doctors, practitioners and specially students. Dr. Vyas said that there would be lectures on different topics like neurodynamics, taping, chiropractic management and other. About dozen research papers would be presented during the conference.
There will be ‘Physio Expo’ at the conference site. About 8 stalls have been put up which will display physiotherapy equipments and other accessories. This would also allow common man to have a insight about the tools, she added.
Eminent speakers like Dr. Lalit Sodha (UK), Christina Kindblom (Sweden), Dr. Subash Khatri, Dr. Apoorva Shimpi (Pune), Dr. Deepak Kumar(Delhi) will participate in the conference. Besides eminent orthopedics from Gujarat namely Dr. Pankaj Patel,Dean MET, Dr. Bharat Dave, Dr.Amit Jhala, Dr. Deepak Goyal and others will also share their views on the latest developments in the field of orthopedics.
The conference will be held at Ahmedabad Management Association and will be inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra. Acting Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University Dr. Mukul Shah will be the guest of honour.
