Gas Authority of India Ltd and seven gas distribution companies operating in Gujarat have decided to supply CNG and PNG to Gujarat at a cheaper rate. The decision was taken at a meeting held in Gandhinagar today.
After the meeting, Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel declared that whenever GAIL will start supplying gas, CNG price in the state will witness cut of Rs. 10 while PNG price will witness cut in range of Rs. 2.00 to 9.45 per kg.
He said that as many as 2,35,000 CNG using vehicles and 12,30,000 PNG using houses will benefit from this development. The reduced rates are likely to come in force from next week.
GSPC is likely to cut per kg CNG price by Rs. 10.10. Existing rate is Rs. 66.30. New rate could be Rs. 56.20. PNG gas price could go down by Rs. 2 to Rs. 9.45.
