GU Syndicate cancels all MOUs signed by former VC

Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad
Gujarat University today took important decisions regarding controversial actions of former Vice-chancellor Adesh Pal who had to quit prematurely. The Syndicate of the GU decided to cancel all MOUs signed with four institutions with immediate effect.

The University, however, decided to run the course covered by the MOU itself so that the future of about 600 students is not affected by the cancellation of the MOU. Dr. Mukul Shah in-charge vice chancellor of Gujarat University presided the meeting of the Syndicate.

In another important decision the syndicate also decided to review all 200 plus decisions taken by the former vice-chancellor using his emergency powers during a short spell of 11 months. This includes order for printing answer sheets without formal process of tendering, ad-hoc appointments of teaching staff and permission to colleges to shift staff.
