Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today asserted that he had expressed his views on Ordinance. He said that a large part of Congress party wanted it and he should not be penalized for expressing his views.
Interacting with media under the banner of Gujarat Media Club here, Rahul Gandhi said that his mother told him that he had used harsh words. But my sentiment was not wrong.
He said that he had right to voice his views. He parried a question on what transpired between him and Prime Minister on the issue of his describing the Ordinance nonsense while intervening in a media conference in Press Club in Delhi.
He said that he had rung up Ajay Maken who was addressing media. Maken told him that he was going to defend the Ordinance. And so I reached there and expressed my views, Rahul Gandhi said.
At that time the Prime Minister was in US and his statement raised a political storm.
