Navajivan Trust has decided to release facsimile edition of Harijan-A journal of Applied Gandhiism popularly known as voice of Mahatma Gandhi. Rajmohan Gandhi will launch it formally on October 2 at Navajivan Trust premises in the city.
The magazine Harijan was published between 1933 and 1956.It was considered as Gandhiji’s voice. It is said the Harijan was the mirror of Gandhiji’s soul. For Gandhiji, it was an exercise and discipline in non violent thinking and truthful expression.
Vivek Desai, Managing Trustee, Navajivan Trust said “The Set consists of 19 volumes of Facsimile edition of Harijan Magazine from 1933 to 1956. We have also added 20th consolidated volume of Index of all 19 volumes prepared by Prof. Hemantkumar Shah. Thus total 20 volumes will be published.”
He further said “The Nineteen volumes run into total 8400 pages and 955 issues. The price of the set is Rs. 30,000. For individual buyers, a special price of Rs. 25,000 is offered for orders booked before 30thJanuary, 2014.”
